Super fast pickled red onions – a real favorite on our table!
Ingredients
Scale
- 2–3 medium red onions
- 120 ml apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp coconut blossom sugar or brown sugar
- 1,5 tsp sea salt
- 0,5 tsp black peppercorns
- 1 tsp. mustard seeds
- 1 cup hot water
Instructions
- Peel onions and slice as finely as possible.
- Put sliced onions into a clean, sealable jar.
- In a bowl, mix all other ingredients and pour over onions while still hot.
- Let the onions sit for at least 1 hour, they are even better the next day.
Notes
The pickled red onions will keep in the refrigerator for a good 3 weeks – but they never last that long in our house….
